Shipping policy

How We Ship

We ship with UPS and USPS to the Continental United States, targeting a 1-2 day delivery window. 

We offer flat rates:
Anywhere on the East Coast is $10.
Anywhere west of the Mississippi is $25.
Our western rates are lower during the wintertime. 

We ship out all of our orders on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Orders placed during the weekend will most likely be processed the following week. A tracking number will be sent to you by email once the shipping label is generated. 

If you place an order for pickup, it will be available during normal shop hours Friday-Sunday.

We take special care to protect your chocolates from high temperatures using insulated packaging and cold packs. We check the forecast during the delivery window and adjust packaging as needed to ensure a safe delivery.

SavedBy Package Protection

SavedBy is an optional package protection service we offer at checkout to give you additional peace of mind when ordering our chocolate.

For a small fee (~3% of total order value), your package is protected from: Loss, Theft, and Damage, including heat-related issues like melting

If you opt-in to this service and something goes wrong during shipping, you’ll get a fast resolution (either a replacement or a full refund)- handled directly by SavedBy.

Caveat

We do our very best to protect our chocolates from damage during transit. That being said, whatever occurs once the chocolates have left the shop is beyond our control.

Wholehearted Chocolate is not responsible for the following incidents* which could possibly occur during the shipping process:

  • Damage to the package, whether from heat exposure or improper handling
  • Damage or theft of packages after the package has been delivered to the specific address
  • Delays caused by the shipping company due to weather or other circumstances
  • Returned or delayed packages due to an incorrect or undeliverable shipping address

We ask that you do your part to ensure a successful delivery by remaining mindful of the delivery date and getting your chocolates inside as soon as possible once they arrive. 

No chocolates will be happy sitting in the sun for extended periods of time. 

This is especially important to remember if you are sending chocolates to someone as a gift. Melted chocolates are a surprise that no one will enjoy!

*These are the sorts of incidents that our Package Protection service is specifically designed to address. If you do choose this shipping insurance, rest assured we will sort out any such issues. 

Local Pickup

If you select Pickup during checkout, your order will be available for pickup in person during regular shop hours (Friday-Sunday 11-5).

Please wait for a message from us confirming your order is ready for pickup, and bring this confirmation message with you when you come.
